The Power of Perspective

Hello there,

Have you ever lived through a moment so heavy that you couldn’t imagine life ever feeling different?
That was me at 22.

A young mum with an 18-month-old on my hip, pregnant with my second child, my husband gravely ill in hospital, and we were living on Sickness Benefits.
I felt scared. Tired. Overwhelmed. And I couldn’t see beyond the moment I was standing in.

And then my Auntie said something that I didn’t think much of in the moment, but the truth of it has echoed back to me over the years:

“Things won’t always be this way.”

At the time, those words felt like gold that I just couldn’t grasp.
But I didn’t yet understand the quiet power of perspective.

If I had known then what I know and live now, I would have begun right there and then, scripting the life I wanted to live.

Not from fantasy.
Not from desperation.
But from a higher perspective.

From the truth that life responds to the story we choose to tell.

I would have written my prescription for the woman I intended to become:
How she thought.
How she carried herself.
How she handled challenges.
What she valued.
Where she was going.

And I would have read it daily, with the quiet confidence that I was selecting a potential… and beginning to move it into play.

Because life is not a straight line.
It is a series of moments - invitations, really - to notice what we prefer, to shift our perspective on what’s possible and to rise to meet opportunities.

Where you are right now doesn’t define your future.
It doesn’t lock you in.
It doesn’t have the power to dictate your desires.
Unless you decide that it does.

A higher perspective doesn’t erase reality.
It simply lifts your eyes, so you can see possibility instead of limitation, sense direction instead of despair, and find next steps instead of dead ends.

Every day, you are choosing a lens.
Choose the one that expands your horizons.

This week, I invite you to ask yourself:

What perspective am I choosing today?
Is it one that keeps me anchored to my old stories?
Or is it one that lifts me toward a future where I’m who I want to be?

A quiet shift can change everything.

With love,
Di 💛

You always have enough power to carry what's yours
There’s something I’ve come to trust deeply. You always have enough power to carry what’s yours. If you’ve ever felt flat, stretched, or emotionally heavy it’s rarely because you’re weak or lacking power. More often, it’s because you’re carrying more than what’s yours to hold. Recently, a friend of mine - now a new mum herself - read about a young woman who had passed away, leaving behind a hus...
Tired of Effort as a Lifestyle?
There’s a question I’ve been sitting with lately. What if wealth - all the good you want to experience in life - doesn’t respond to effort…but to openness? We’re so conditioned to believe that if we just try harder, push more, stay on top of things, then life will finally open up and deliver for us. And yes - doing does have its place. But it’s not what you do that life responds to.Life doesn’t...
Giving What You Want the Green Light
Hello there, There’s something quietly shaping your year ahead. It isn’t your goals. It isn’t your effort. It isn’t even where you’re currently at. It’s in what you’re quietly believing. Faith is never neutral. It’s always pointed somewhere. Faith isn’t something reserved for religion or spirituality. It’s our innate ability to truly believe something. It’s part of how we’re wired as human beings. A...
