You Already Know
I’ve had a couple of weeks where an idea I’ve been carrying for a long time has become much clearer.
And it’s left me fascinated by what we all have in us.
Often, when we’re struggling with something — a decision, a relationship, our business, our confidence, our time — we can tend to think we need something else, something more to add.
More discipline.
More motivation.
More confidence.
A better strategy.
Rarely do we stop and look at what we already have — and ask what we’re doing with that.
There is an extraordinary amount already going on within us.
And lately I’ve been wondering whether the next level of our lives is always about adding more…
or whether sometimes it’s about becoming more aware of what we already have — and learning how to use it.
♡
One of the biggest things we have in us is a ‘knowing’.
I was just laughing with a long-time friend of mine as we observed how often we ‘know’ what to do, but spend enormous amounts of energy and resources justifying why we’re doing the exact opposite!
How much simpler (and more enjoyable!!) life would be if we just took the action of what we already ‘know’!
I was speaking with a fabulous business owner today who is so tuned in to everyone around him — such a support to others and full of compassion.
He was feeling flat.
And as we spoke, it became very clear — he was running on empty, while trying to bring more to his business and the people he cares for.
Again, we laughed as he admitted — the signs had been screaming at him.
He had the space. He knew.
It was time for him to go and ‘fuel up’.
He just wasn’t doing what he knew.
♡
After our call ended, I kept thinking about how often we know when it’s time to push — and when it’s time to stop pushing — but override it anyway.
When a woman is in labour, and the contraction stops — it’s time to stop pushing.
When the contraction comes — push with it!
There’s a natural rhythm to it.
And I wonder how much easier life might be if we became better at recognising our own rhythm — and trusting what we already know.
♡
So… learn to go with what you ‘know’.
It just may be leading you somewhere good. 😉
Have a great weekend.
Di ♡
P.S. If you’re keen to learn more about pushing less and going with the flow of what you ‘know’, come and have a cuppa with me at The Morning Shift on Tuesday 13th October in Adelaide.
You can find all the details here.
