When Life Says, "Let's Go!"

Often, in the hustle of daily life around us, it's easy to just drift along. Doing the do.

These letters are an invitation to pause for a while, reconnect with what’s true for you, and live a little more unapologetically.

♡

By the time you read this, we will have finished our first ‘I AM’ one-day event.

Right now, I’m sitting here with everything ready. Tomorrow’s the day!!

We have 16 people coming together to explore the ‘raw energy’ that powers us -  and what becomes possible when we understand what we’re actually working with.

I’m feeling so ready - having had this ‘in’ me for more than a few years now - it’s time to share it … and I’m excited and very clear as to what the message is and what it will do for those who receive it.

Perhaps that’s why this subject of desire feels particularly alive for me tonight.

I AM itself began as something I could feel in me long before I knew exactly what I would do with it.

♡

Last week in our letter, I began to talk about the natural process of creation in us.

The first step in the process is seeing it - whatever ‘it’ is that we want to create in our lives.

My goodness, think about all the things you see in a day.

All the ideas that come to you, some you love, others…not so much!

Some of the things you become aware of really light you up, while others barely register on your interest scale, and others are a definite ‘no thanks!’

And that brings me to the second phase of the natural process of creation.

Desire.

Wanting.

The feeling of “….I’d love that!”

One of the qualities innate in us is Love.

And Love is described as “the desire to bestow greater fullness of life.”

Now there’s an old word — bestow!

It simply means ‘to present as a gift’.

So Love is the desire towards greater fullness of life.

Think about that.

♡

Desire has been described as ‘the effort of the unexpressed within, seeking expression without’…

In other words - there’s something in you that wants out!

It’s Life saying, “Come on…let’s go!”

And here’s what’s interesting.

You feel the desire — “I’d love to…”

And almost as quickly, you talk yourself out of it.

I couldn’t …
I wouldn’t …
I shouldn’t …

Before you’ve even given yourself the chance to explore the idea, you’ve shut it down.

And sometimes, that desire stays buried for years.

Maybe even a lifetime.

♡

Why do we do that?

Maybe we’ve just got too good at finding reasons why not.

The basis of life is freedom, and the beginning of freedom is expressing what’s in us.

So here’s my invitation to you this week…

Pay attention to the things that spark something in you.

Particularly those little moments when you hear yourself saying:

“I’d love to…”

or

“I really want…”

And instead of immediately following it with all the reasons why you can’t, just let yourself have the thought.

Jot it down in the notes on your phone or in your journal.

Play with it.

What if…?

What might it look like?

How might it feel?

You’re not deciding to actually do anything — yet.

You’re simply giving yourself permission to explore what you want, without talking yourself out of it.

And who knows…

maybe it’s leading you somewhere good. 😉

P.S. If this has got you thinking about what you’d love more of in your own life, come and have a cuppa with me at The Morning Shift on Tuesday 13th October in Adelaide. We’ll keep the conversation going. You can find all the details here.

Never Apologise For The Invisible Seasons
Often, in the noise of daily life, it's easy to drift away from our true selves. These letters are an invitation to pause for a while, reconnect with what you know to be true, and live a little more unapologetically you. ♡ As I sit writing this week’s letter, I’m noticing the tree just outside my window. It’s been bare for months now, having dropped its leaves in autumn, and to the untrained ey...
