What If Your Desire Is the Evidence?
Have you ever had an idea that just wouldn’t let you go?
In 2015 I caught myself thinking …
“I want to help people be the best they can be.”
And then I immediately shut it down.
“How would I EVER do that? “
♡
What’s your idea?...that one that just keeps hanging around.
“… to travel overseas for a year.”
“… to own my own home.”
“… to start my own fashion label.”
Those ideas feel so good when you think of them, but then
You reason with it
“…what would that look like?”
You tell yourself it isn't practical
“yeah right … how would that ever happen?”
You argue that the timing isn't right
“I’ll do that… when I have more behind me.”
And of course, you justify everything with
“…surely if it were meant to happen I'd feel more confident.”
But this idea of yours, …it just keeps returning.
Have you ever wondered why?
♡
I’ve learnt that not every thought deserves my attention.
But these ideas...
They don't feel like pressure.
They don't scream at you.
They simply remain there, quietly, consistently, waiting…
Waiting for what?
Waiting for you to give them your attention…to get emotionally involved with them.
And we do that by using our imagination.
Did I hear you say you’re not creative, not good at imagining, or creating a vision?
We use this amazing creative tool called imagination every single day.
A common use for it is when we worry.
“…what if this happens…”
“…what if I can’t……”
I know you know this sort of imagining!!
We all imagine….every day.
The question is:
Which pictures are we choosing to hold?
♡
One of our TLC members had been concentrating her imagination on a specific kind of house she wanted to live in.
For months, every day she pictured it, complete with the path out to the veggie garden.
Then one day, she was offered a home - and there it was… the very home she had imagined.
Here is the truth that I’m so grateful for….
We don’t create our desires out of thin air.
The desire arrives because there's already something within us capable of expressing it.
The seed appears before the tree.
The longing appears before the evidence shows up.
So…
What’s an idea that keeps returning?
Not because you're chasing it...
but because it's quietly calling you.
Is there a persistent idea you have been talking yourself out of?
♡
This week, instead of asking,
"Can I?"
Ask yourself
"What if this desire is the evidence that it’s possible for me?"
Perhaps this idea is Life revealing something that you haven't fully recognised in yourself yet.
I'd love to hear from you.
What's an idea that just won't leave you alone?
Hit reply and let me know. I read every email.

If this has stirred something in you, I unpack the idea more deeply in this week's YouTube, where I also share a simple framework I call LEARN that’s changed the way I work with my own ideas.
