Never Apologise For The Invisible Seasons

Often, in the noise of daily life, it's easy to drift away from our true selves.

These letters are an invitation to pause for a while, reconnect with what you know to be true, and live a little more unapologetically you.

♡

As I sit writing this week’s letter, I’m noticing the tree just outside my window.

It’s been bare for months now, having dropped its leaves in autumn, and to the untrained eye, you might have thought it was dying.

But today as I look, I notice the very tips of the bare branches have begun to sprout green, and the Rosella parrots are back picking away at it.

Its quiet season is over.

It reminds me of watching our neighbour when I was a child, watering a patch of dirt beside his footpath. We didn’t have a lot of rain where I lived, and he was out there every day with the hose… watering the dirt.

I remember thinking it was strange, until I noticed the little green shoots of grass begin to appear.

He clearly knew what he was growing.

His actions supported his belief well before the evidence appeared.

♡

What do you do during the ‘invisible seasons’ of your life?

As I spoke about belief in the community this week, one of the ladies revealed she had written a book, 30+ years ago, received one rejection and put it away thinking ‘that’s not going to work’.

It’s so easy to let the feedback determine our belief.

But whenever we cannot see evidence of the outcome we want

…whenever our idea appears to be ‘dead in the water’ …

That’s the time to understand there will be invisible seasons.

The question is, what are we to do during the ‘invisible season’?

The truth is, it’s not our job to force something into existence - we literally can’t do that.

Our job is to tend to it.

Between the picturing of your outcome and the arrival of it, when it appears nothing is happening - that’s when we get to tend to it.

We ‘water’ it, tend to it, keep it alive by providing it with the energy of our belief.

How do we do that?

By assuming the feeling we would have if it were already a fact in our lives.

And then, by paying attention and noticing what we feel inspired to do from that state of being.

That’s it!  No worrying, no doubting, no forcing, no putting it in the drawer for 30 years!

♡

It’s so easy to believe that we have to ‘make it happen’.

The truth is, we will be involved in the outcome, but we are not the organizer of the ‘how’ of the result.

Here’s what I’ve found...

The more I can hold the quiet knowing that "this is happening," the easier it becomes to notice the next step.

And when we are not clear on what to do next - hold the vision and the feeling of the doneness of it… you’ll soon receive guidance on your next move.

I am so excited about all the possibilities available to us all!

Not one single person is exempt from the magic of Life looking to express with and through them.

Where has life already been prompting you?

What ideas keep returning?

I always love hearing from you. Simply hit reply and share it with me.

Until next time,

Live unapologetically you,

Di ♡

That 'Thing' You Don't Realise You're Practicing
Often, in the busyness of life, it's easy to drift away from ourselves. I write these letters as a gentle invitation to pause for a while, reconnect with what you know to be true, and live a little more unapologetically you. ♡ A conversation I had this week sounded so familiar. Two people, a scenario rolling out, and in amongst it all, one person said to themself  “…they don’t believe in me…” A...
What If Your Desire Is the Evidence?
Have you ever had an idea that just wouldn’t let you go? In 2015 I caught myself thinking … “I want to help people be the best they can be.” And then I immediately shut it down. “How would I EVER do that? “ ♡ What’s your idea?...that one that just keeps hanging around. “… to travel overseas for a year.” “… to own my own home.” “… to start my own fashion label.” Those ideas feel so good when you...
Returning to Yourself
Just today I came across a piece of writing one of my daughters sent me a few years ago. She’d written an account of her thoughts and observations leading into an interaction we’d had a year after I began a new chapter in my life. Reading it again stirred my emotion, and my gratitude, for what she’d delivered to me that day. The account of events she’d written about was true. What hit me was ho...
